Home Media: It’s official! ‘The Incredibles’ is coming to 4K Ultra HD

We’ve been posting its existence for many months now, but it is now “officially official”.

We first reported on The Incredibles coming to 4K Ultra HD (UHD) back in April, but now Disney has officially announced its existence, heading to store shelves June 5th in America, and June 13th in Australia. We’ll create a Buyer’s Guide for both regions closer to their scheduled release dates.

Here’s the American UHD cover:

The UHD version will include the film in its new Dolby Atmos audio remaster with a 4K resolution of High Dynamic Range (HDR). The original Blu-ray supported DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and a 1080p picture. The UHD also includes a copy of the film on Blu-ray, as well as retaining all its special features from the 2011 Blu-ray set.

Additionally, it has been officially revealed that the Australian version of The Incredibles UHD will also contain 2 Blu-ray discs along with the 4K disc, meaning this is the first time that the second disc that contains bonus materials has officially be available to buy in Australia, as it wasn’t included in the 2011 Blu-ray version. It is unfortunate for those who have bought The Incredibles on Blu-ray don’t have access to the second Blu-ray disc, locked away behind the 4K Ultra HD release. A simple Blu-ray re-release with the bonus material disc would had at least been nice for Blu-ray fans?

This marks the first classic catalogue title from Pixar or Disney to get a UHD release.
