Taylor’s top 4 most anticipated Disney films for 2019!

2019 is looking like a big year for Disney films! With 3 live-action films in one whole year!

I personally am looking forward to 2019 due to the whole range of movies 🎥 Such as; Mary Poppins (Yes it is 2019 release for Australia sadly!) Frozen 2, Toy Story 4 and live action adaptions of Aladdin, Dumbo, The Lion King. Also, we got 2 Marvels films for 2019 – Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel. As well we got Star Wars 9Descendants 3, a live-action Kim Possible film, Noelle and Artemis Fowl.

What a mouthful! 😅

For this list, we aren’t including Disney+ titles as we don’t know which films will make its debut in 2019 and with the streaming service coming to a late 2019 launch. Plus who knows how long Australia gets the streaming service because we do seem to miss out on a lot of things or we get things years later… that’s Australia for you. 😞

Don’t expect to see Star Wars on this list because personally I don’t like Star Wars and I honestly cannot get into the films. No hard feelings towards those who are massive Star Wars fans, just a franchise I couldn’t get into, even though I have watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens and bits and pieces of older Star Wars films. Sorry, but it’s a no for me. 👎🏻🙅🏻‍♀️

With that being said, here are my top 4 most anticipated Disney films for 2019!

Frozen 2

I am so excited that 2019 is so much closer than it was when Frozen 2 was first announced! And yes this is my most anticipated film for 2019 and the most anticipated for 2019 as a whole! I can’t wait to see more of Elsa and that I hope we dive more into her origin as to why she has these icy powers! ❄️

While as I write this, we have no idea of what the story of Frozen 2 is going to be as we have yet to get a teaser or even a proper trailer for it yet, but I am still very excited and hyped!

The funny thing about the first Frozen film when it first came out in Australia is that I had no intention of ever seeing it and then when it came out on DVD I absolutely loved it and since regretted my decision. The first time it ever came out on DVD I watched it 4 times in one night. 😅 My cousin who saw it in cinemas absolutely adored the film and I really wish I could turn back time and be able to have that first-time theatre experience for Frozen with them. They wouldn’t stop talking about it and got everything that had Frozen! 😂

Well I guess I get to finally have that experience when Frozen 2 comes out and we see it together 🙌

Dumbo

When I first saw the trailer for Dumbo I couldn’t get over how beautiful he is! I really look forward in seeing Tim Burton’s adaptation of Disney’s Dumbo (1941) I’ve honestly never have seen any of Tim Burton’s films even though I am familiar with his art style (which I really like!) and I always wanted to see the Corpse Bride (2005) and The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). I know the characters but not the stories of those films.

I really loved Disney’s Dumbo when I watched it as a child and still to this day, it has held my admiration for the 1941 film. 🐘

The Lion King

From watching the teaser for this CGI re-imagining of The Lion King, I was in awe at how cute a life-like Simba is! It is also amazing to think how much computer technology has advanced to do a full movie like this. I cannot imagine how much CPU and GPU their computer needs to create and render this! I’m impressed! While I haven’t seen The Jungle Book (2016) or Maleficent (2014) yet! Although I have seen Cinderella (2015), I am actually very interested in how this movie is going to pan out without having any human casting in the film and being entirely created behind a computer screen! 🦁

Avengers: Endgame

The first movie I ever saw with my partner back was The Avengers (2012) and I have seen every Avengers film since besides the few solo films that connect the Avengers films. Although I’ve seen Thor: The Dark World (2013) Iron Man 3 (2013) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014). So there has been a bit of a fair gap! (I will one day go back and watch the solo hero films, eventually!) But I still understood what was happening in the films regardless! But I am very hyped because my favourite Avenger makes a return as he was absent in Avengers: Infinity War (2018). So to see them again makes me super hyped to see this! I do really enjoy the action scenes in these films too!

What are your top 4 Disney movies you are hyped to see in 2019?

Are there any non-Disney movies that you are so excited to finally watch! I know there are a few that I am excited for!

I am really looking forward to 2019! Personally, I have a few goals I would like to achieve myself. So here’s to 2019, a fresh start! Let’s make it a good one! 🙏
