Justice for Buzzy! Disney World fans exclaim!

Disney World fans were absolutely heartbroken over the holiday period as reports spread about a theft of a retired animatronic character who once brought joy to millions in the Epcot attraction.

Buzzy was the star of Cranium Command. Of which he guided a boy through life from a control centre inside the child’s brain.

The attraction opened in 1989 and sadly closed on the 1st of January 2007.

Sadly the attraction has been left vacant…

On December 21st, an active member of DisTwitter (the Twitter’s Disney Fan community) who goes by DreamFinderGuy was one of the first to report that something has happened to Buzzy.

Initial rumours suggested that buzzy has been kidnapped. But an incident report from August surfaced, stating that an ‘Unkown subject entered the backstage area of the Wonders of Life‘ exhibit around August 1st to the 8th 2018 and ‘Removed the custom clothing’

But apparently, it was not just the clothing that was removed, but also his green military style cape and his red bomber jacket. This ‘unknown subject’ has also allegedly stolen a pair of custom made rubber hands.

Dante Candelaria says that the Walt Disney World did not give anyone permission to take their items and that the building is often used by third-party vendors.

The report points out that ‘the items are a part of Walt Disney World’s history and hold value on the black market for collectors’

After DreamFinderGuy first shared his tweet regarding the sad news with DisTwitter, the community launched a #FindBuzzy campaign, which resulted in hundreds of tweets bringing attention to the mystery.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office incident report from late December shows that a suspect in the grand theft case voluntarily met with law enforcement officers. When the man attempted to leave, an officer said he would keep the suspects’ phone. The suspect then reportedly grabbed his phone and was soon detained and charged with resisting arrest.

The suspect has not been charged with theft!

This news is upsetting to read, as I don’t understand why someone would do this?

I really hope they can find the person!
